Abu Dhabi Nightlife: General Nightlife

The nightlife in Abu Dhabi is a varied and exciting selection of possibilities. From bars and wineries to hotels, discos and nightclubs and even to traditional old English pubs, there is no shortage of possible activities. The discos often feature musical nights with both local and international DJs spinning the music for the entertainment of locals and tourists alike, while the nightclubs can be anything from Arabic, English or Irish owned, operated and themed. Almost no two nightclubs will have the same style, making it an exciting assortment of eclectic choices for nightlife entertainment, particularly for the newcomer in town. The more local kind of nightclub will often feature Arab singers and even belly dancers giving live performances, and those wishing to truly get a flavour of Arabian culture should make a beeline for those establishments rather than sticking to ones that have a more international feel.

Many tourists unfamiliar with the city may well be under the illusion that, since Abu Dhabi is part of the UAE (United Arab Emirates) and a Muslim country, that that might mean the nightlife is limited or strictly moral – but nothing could be further from the truth.

There is perhaps only way in which the city shows such a boundary and that is with the noticeable lack of casinos and other such gambling establishments. Aside from that one restriction, however, there is no shortage of nightlife possibilities in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi hotels are situated in easy reach of most of the nightlife in the city, and tourists are thus encouraged to leave their Abu Dhabi hotel and see what happens in the area when the sun goes down.
